SONGS OF THE ALBUM:

DREAMLAND
incl. BUNGLE JUNGLE
Part 1: It’s reality
Part 2: Feeling free
[BJ Winter ©2008]

Dreamland - woody hills surrounding me.
Paradise - living in perfect harmony…
Can’t you see? We feel free! You and I!
Dreamland - deep blue lakes in front of me.
Paradise - it’s a place I like to be.
We feel free! You and me! Together!
Was it a dream?
No, it’s a reality!
Nature should make you happy.
Not the material world!
Nature should make you happy.
Not the material world!

The basic song was written by AdMaxi on vacation in North Portugal at ‘Geres National Park’ last summer. Visit this place and you’ll experience a paradise on earth…
'Ungle Bugle' is a combination of a classical guitar solo with the drum-sound of the jungle – just an experiment for a new sound! …

LOOK AT THE WORLD!
[Al Dickson & BJ Winter ©1994/2008]

Look at the world… Look at the world!
Get up on your feet don’t sit up there.
The world is changing are you ready?
The generation system and changes in the people
Drive me crazy, yeah, yeah!
The high cost of living and it’s full of starvation, mm mm.
The crazy war and it’s full of confusion.
Yeah, yeah – yeah, yeah!
Get up – are you ready? Get up are – you ready?
Now people hate to love and brotherhood is gone away.
They don’t understand never wanna know the reason why!
Everybody wanna get out of the world, yes they do.
Where they going nobody really knows
‘cause the world is like a time-bomb!
Get up – are you ready? Get up are – you ready?
Look at the world… Look at the world!

Al Dickson started writing this song in Sierra Leone and finished it in Solingen, Germany, where he met a lot of German people from various social backgrounds but all with their own problems. He realized that something is wrong all over the world … and not only in Africa!

YOU’RE ON MY MIND
[Al Dickson ©2004/2008]

Dancing to the rhythm anytime she passes me by
Singing the melody of my favourite song.
Dancing in motion, she smiles and waves good-bye.
Oh god, I’m melting down, I can’t resist her charm.
I don’t believe anything they say
All I want is to hold her in my arms
Oh yeah, oh Baby cast your spell on me
Wanna feel your magic woman touch.
Can I hold your hand? Can I make you mine?
Can I give you love? Girl, you’re on my mind!
Let me hear you …  !
Any time I see her, I make a sign of the cross.
Praying to my god above to let her be the one
She talks in a whisper, she makes my body freeze.
Oh god, I’m melting down, I can’t resist her charm!
I don’t believe anything they say
All I want is to hold her in my arms
Oh yeah, oh Baby cast your spell on me
Wanna feel your magic woman touch.
Can I hold your hand? Can I make you mine?
Can I give you love? Girl, you’re on my mind!
Can I hold your hand? Can I make ….

This song is dedicated to an Indian woman called Chrisante, a friend of Dickson’s brother living in the US where he once met this girl and promised to write a song for her …

HOMELESS
[BJ Winter ©2005/2008]

This instrumental is dedicated to AdMaxi’s mother often thinking about her lost homeland on the Polish coastline a long, long time ago …

HISTORY REPEATS
[BJ Winter ©1972/2007]

Take me away from Baghdad city
Must we attack civilians? – It really is a pity.
People die from it day by day
Industrial bosses don’t wanna find a way.
To stop this mess, no matter what they say.
Soldiers, come home from the Iraqi war
Because few corrupt bosses know
What you are fighting for!
Take the next plane and come back home,
Your poor old mother is waiting for you.
She is feeling unhappy and blue.
Wake up people show them your power
Join the resistance even at this hour
Show the rich your rights
Show them their wrongs
They only do it for the money
I feel it in my bones!
Wake up people show them your power
Join the movement even at this hour
Show the rich your rights
Show them their wrongs
They only do it for the money
And destroy your homes.

This is dedicated to countless innocent victims of war who had to suffer and died in consequence of a few criminals’ insatiability!

IS THIS THE FUTURE?
[Al Dickson ©2006/2008]

Is this the future? Is this the future?
We’re talking about? Is this the future?
I wanna know!
War, war: spreading everywhere.
War, war: killing everybody.
Hate is spreading like wild fire
Children don’t know whom to trust
Rapes and murders everywhere.
I’m asking you now, I’m asking you now:
Is this the future, we’re talking about?
Please let me know!
People don’t be lazy
Time is running so fast for us
Aids and cancer everywhere
Let’s make the world a better place:
Bad terror is blocking every move.

This describes what is happening nowadays: Disease and poverty is killing more that what was expected! Hate and terrorism rule the world. Dickson explained in detail to a colleague at work the situation our planet is in. The guy commented: ‘I’ve never thought of this!’ This encouraged Dickson to write this song.

JUSTICE!
[BJ Winter ©2007)

An instrumental which came to AdMaxi’s mind when listening for the first time to Dickson’s ‘Look at the world’ …

LAST TEARS FOR LOVE
[Al Dickson ©1993/2008]

There is something that has been burdening me for long.
It’s all about you and your evil ways.
I’ve been waiting and hoping that you’ll change
To my life you’re still a pain in my heart.
How long must you hurt me?
How long must I sing this sad song?
I’ve been loving you all my life in pain.
I wanna be free, I can’t take anymore.
I can’t stand the pain anymore.
Girl, I’m leaving you now,
And it’s good-bye forever,
‘Cause I’m tired of living in pain.
This is my last tear for you.
I’ve found a woman who’s is treating me so fine.
She takes her time and she acts so cool.
She touched my heart and makes me feel so strong.
Healing up the wounds that you left to me.
Now she is giving me all the loving
That you failed to give me all these years
She looks up to me and calls me just a man
I’m so in love, so leave me alone,
I never knew that love is so sweet, yeah!

This song is all about an ex-girlfriend of Dickson’s in a ‘fire & water’ relationship. When she started doing something behind his back, he quit having found somebody else in the meantime.

A LOVE STORY
[BJ Winter ©1999/2008]

Tell me: What did you do today?
Tell me: Are you satisfied going your own way?
Tell me: Is everything alright with your life?
Touch me: Whenever you want!
Love me:  When I am in front of you, darling
And let me know: Do you feel the same as I do?
What did you do today?
Are things going your way?
Are you satisfied?
Is everything alright with your life?
Did you enjoy your day?
What more can I say?
Did you miss me?
Can’t live my life without you!
Hold me: This moment should last
Touch me: Whenever you're in the mood to
Kiss me, set me free.
Let's stay together way beyond time …

This song is dedicated to AdMaxi’s wife as a way of saying thank you for her love and reliability all over the years…

WELCOME JAZZY!
[BJ Winter ©2001/2008]

Just an idea for an interlude…

ARABIAN PRINCESS
[Al Dickson ©2007/2008]

I fell in love with an Arabian Princess.
She was so sweet and I loved her so much.
She was in love but her fear was my life-style.
No one will come to her aid in trouble.
No one will come to her wedding party.
That’s the way she used to cry!
Them a say she is crazy, crazy about me
I man na crazy, crazy about her.
That makes some other guys jealous
Oooh, ooah, jealousy, jealousy for love
Oooh, ooah, them a wonder.
She loved me and I loved her
She told me: ‘Stop the girlie, girlie,
One day you gonna lose me!’
But I didn’t hear a word she said
Thinking I was smart and cool. Hu woooi.
Now I’m singing, now I’m singing:
I fell in love …
It’s too late, now she is gone.
The game is over, and I don’t know what to do.
What a fool I have been:
I was so blind to let her go!
Woyo, woyo, woyo na me crying.
I was so blind to let you go. Hu woooi.
Now I’m singing, now I’m singing:
I fell in love ...

Dickson wrote this song in Sierre Leone, where he met his  ‘Arabian Princess’, but was too young and not reliable enough to keep up this relationship while he hopped from girl to girl. Later he regretted it for a long time …

HOPELESS RIDER
[BJ Winter ©1999]

Just the intro for ‘Serenada’ based on a song called ‘Night Fighter’ which was recorded by AdMaxi around the year 2000…

SERENADA
[BJ Winter & Al Dickson ©1988//2008]

Serenada, you are always on my mind …
Serenada, another way I have to find!
Serenada …
Can't dig it at all
But have to find
Another kind of living … !
Oh Serenada
Baby, I’m still in love with you
Oh Serenada
I wish I could hold you once again
Oh-oh my Serenada
I’m still in love with you!
Serenada was a girl I once loved
She was so erotic!

This song was written by AdMaxi way back in 1988 and completed by Dickson beginning of this year when getting the feeling that our ‘New Kind of Afro-Euro Fusion Music’ could be something new. Besides, this song is a fantasy!
